Search for a New Home

The USS Aries PHM-5 is the last of her kind in the World.  She is in relatively good condition, but she does require some ongoing work.  The best way to accomplish our goals is to relocate the ship to a coastal community, allowing better access to the proper facilities, and be in a better location for both volunteers & visitors.

The U.S. Government requires the ship to be open to the public for tours 1000 hours per year in order to be eligable for donation status of some of the items needed to complete our goals.  Those items include (but not limited to) an LM2500 Gas turbine, demilitarized 76MM gun mount & Harpoon cannisters and various other items that will completely restore this wonderful one-of-a-kind museum piece that unlike any other naval ship museum, can travel to coastal communities all over the United States.

Ideally we would like to locate the Aries in Key West Florida, Her original home port.  Of course we would entertain any suitable location.  The following requirements are need to support the Aries.

We need a minimum of 150 feet of frontage with at least 8 feet  of water depth (at low tide).

Access to shore power (prefer 480 volt 3 phase with 100 amp service), however we can work with 240 single phase & 200 amp service.

We will need a dock side building that could house other exhibits as well as provide a work space for restorations.  We would have the public restroom here, as well as a hookup for the ships sanitation pumpout.
